These guidelines are prepared to assist veterinary practices and other veterinarians in understanding and implementing the requirements of the Code of Good Veterinary Practices.

Therefore, they should be read in conjunction with the Code.

The purpose of these guidelines is to provide some more information as to what is required in the code and how compliance with the requirements can be shown.

The certification body shall look for these items during the audit.

Throughout this document the same order as in the Code is used, but some requirements might be explained in more than one section.
